Torre Allianz Isozaki

The Allianz Tower has been designed by Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei as part of the redevelopment of Fiera Milano urban area commissioned by Citylife. The new headquarter of the German assurance company Allianz was the first of three skyscrapers in the new development area to be completed.

The 50-storey tower is 207 m high and it hosts up to 4,000 people with a total of 46 office floors, three technical floors and a triple-height lobby which connects the metro line 5 with City life main square.
The concept of a modular system that can be repeated in an infinite way without any limit has been applied to achieve maximum verticality and tension towards the sky.

The façades are composed by cold bent glass units which form big curves. The cold bending technique consists of bonding the glass plates to the curved aluminium frames.
The aluminium and glass façades cover a surface of approximately 24,000 m2 and they are made up of 4,500 prefabricated units extremely quick to assemble.

Decoral® Group has coated the aluminium components of the façade with a VIV 7035 opaque class 2 powder. The building has been awarded LEED 2009 Gold certification for Core & Shell.
