Casa Hollywood

Casa Hollywood, designed by the architect Luciano Pia, sits on a lot of land between two streets (the busy street Corso Regina Margherita and the narrow and quiet Via Fiochetto), just outside the historical centre, near the Royal Gardens, the open-air market of Porta Palazzo, Dora Riparia River and Aurora district.
The new structure is placed on a glazed ground floor (at street level, with a view on the inner garden).

The apartments (and a hotel suite with a wide terrace on the two upper floors) are above the ground floor.
The element which connects the ground floor with the upper structure has both functional and aesthetic values: two big concrete cones turned upside-down support the new block as a pedestal, creating large sloped surfaces with openings to get light and air into the inner area.

The southern frontage facing Corso Regina Margherita consists of a double-skin façade supported by a metal structure with a curved shape. This system has a cavity which takes the air from the central area inside the “two skins” to discharge its thermal energy. It protects the interior from the noise coming from the street while walkable solar screen grids prevent the direct irradiation and allow ventilation.

The aluminium components of windows and double-skin façades have been powder coated by Decoral® Group.
