A 19^th century mansion, situated in a wonderful place in Alassio gulf, had a small abandoned guesthouse of 35 m² inside its wide terraced garden. The client decided to demolish it to realize a new residential building.

The intervention was aimed at shaping and adapting this building to the typical Ligurian terracing. The floor is bent to create the terrace, a seat, the kitchen countertop, the bedroom, the bathroom, thus realizing a sort of wood staircase to the sea.
The floor can also contain objects: there are big drawers, appliances, compartments for groceries and wardrobes under it. In this way, the 35 m² space is completely free.
The concrete kitchen countertop is hidden by the floor that can be raised to become a balustrade for the bedroom.

A full-height aluminium frame window divides the living room from the terrace: it is therefore possible to admire the sea from any part of the house. The windows on the lateral walls frame up the lemon and olive trees in the garden.
The stone façade blends in perfectly with the Ligurian dry-stone walls.

Decoral^® Group powder coated the aluminium frame of the windows, creating a pleasant effect which matches the surroundings.
