The “Spark One and Two” buildings in Rogoredo-Santa Giulia district have achieved LEED and WELL certifications. Decoral powder coated doors & windows.

The name “Spark” is closely related to the redevelopment project which was inspired by the ideas of community, sustainability, efficiency and involvement. “Spark One and Two” buildings, recently opened in Rogoredo-Santa Giulia district in Milan, house residences, offices and stores. Their proximity to the train station of the same name makes them particularly attractive for those looking for a space connected to the rest of the city, and for those who want to live in a comfortable building.

Spark One and Two, LEED and WELL certified buildings

Thanks to the materials used, which include Decoral finishes, the two buildings have been awarded with LEED and WELL certifications, in recognition of their indoor air quality, energy savings, reduction of CO2 emissions, as well as daylight availability and sound insulation.

LEED certification, specifically, award credits to projects that meet requirements in categories such as energy and water savings, reduction of CO2 emissions, improvement of indoor environmental quality, materials and resources, design and location.

WELL certification, on the other hand, evaluates indoor air quality, water quality, healthy eating habits, natural light, thermal and acoustic comfort, sustainability, recyclability and emissions of materials, connection to recreational and nature-related places and social cohesion.

Credits contribute to the final score, which is classified as follows:

Silver (50 - 59 points)
Gold (60 - 79 points)
Platinum (> 79 points)

Decoral intervention

Decoral Group contributed to the project, signed by Progetto CMR, by powder coating windows and doors. The colors used are Gray RAL 7004 and RAL 7047, and one black RAL 9005. The finishes are VOC free, meaning that they do not emit organic volatile compounds in indoor environments. This ensures high air quality standards and earns credits to achieve LEED certification.

Spark One and Two buildings

Spark One has a traditional load-bearing structure: reinforced concrete columns and, from the first to the eighth floor, post-tensioned concrete slabs with tensioned strands; on the top level, the floor is made of corrugated metal sheets. The elevator is supported by an independent metal structure. There are two basement levels, which will house the garage, technical rooms and transformer cabin.

As for space composition, the ground floor of Spark One features eight retail units, while on the first floor there are offices and a cafeteria for employee use. The closed offices run from the second to the eighth floor.

The second floor of Spark Two houses a restaurant for exclusive use of occupants, while Saipem's offices develop from the second to the fifth level; additional tenants are planned for the next three floors.
