Rondò dei Talenti
For the “Rondò dei Talenti”, Cuneo's new cultural centre, Decoral Group powder coated the architectural elements with gold and bronze finishes
The “Rondò dei Talenti” is the new cultural centre of the city of Cuneo. The aim of this project was to offer an educational, training and cultural space to citizens. Opened on July 8, 2022, the “Rondò dei Talenti” hosts conference and convention halls, musical performances and temporary exhibitions. But above all, it is a laboratory for educational design focused on food, lifestyle, tourism, environment, innovation and digital transformation. Thanks to the “Rondo’ dei Talenti”, children (7 to 13 years old) will be able to discover their passions and talents through first-hand experience. The purpose is to enable young people to build their future with greater awareness and serenity.

The project
The project, conceived by Fondazione CRC, involved Decoral Group, that powder-coated the building's architectural elements. The two colours chosen for the aluminium elements were gold and bronze.
Specifically, Decoral powder coated the following façade metal components in gold (Andalusia) and bronze (Antico Bistrot, both from the New Urban Design collection):
- window frames
- pilaster strips
- flashing
- expanded metal meshes
- staircase handrails
- roof railing
- entrance doors
The choice of colours was driven by the concept of refinement which guides the cultural and educational activities promoted in the centre. In accordance with the principle of foresight and trust in the cultural system, we used VOC-free LEED compliant finishes, which guarantee high standards of indoor air quality. Andalusia gold colour was used for the pilaster strips, the expanded metal meshes, the staircase handrails, the roof railing and the entrance doors, this way creating a sense of continuity and aesthetic homogeneity. The dark bronze finish 'Antico Bistrot' was applied to the door and window frames, the main entrance door and the groundfloor windows.
How the space is organized
The Rondò dei Talenti hosts a reception area on the ground floor, classrooms and training spaces on the first floor. On the second and third floors there is the “City of Talents”, an innovative hub for orientation activities promoted by the project “MoviMenti Orientamento”, which has defined an orientation model recognized at regional and national level. Thanks to the cooperation with several partners and the co-funding of the National Fund for the fight against youth educational poverty, young people will find in this space opportunities, activities and resources to improve self-awareness and to orient themselves.
The redevelopment project in the hands of young people
The desire to nurture young talents also guided the redevelopment of the entire building. The “Rondò dei Talenti” national competition, reserved for under 40 architects and engineers and promoted by the Association of Architects of Cuneo and Bologna, attracted 70 projects from all over Italy. The winner, announced in December 2019, was awarded a prize of EUR 30,000 together with the complete design and supervision of works, amounting to over EUR 220,000.
